PDO Thread Lift
Our highly skilled nurse injector, Maya, is an expert in all things injectables and PDO threads lifts. PDO threads, also known as monofilament threads can be a useful skin lifting and tightening procedure. Combining this revolutionary treatment with a dermal heating device such as the NuEra or Tempsure, can maximise the effectiveness.
- Safe, low downtime way of increasing collagen production
- Improves skin laxity and firmness
- Can effectively be combined with dermal heating devices
- Compliment other injectable treatments
- Only takes 10-30 minutes to perform
PDO threads are carefully places in key areas to help lift and firm the skin. Areas that can be treated:
• Jaw & lower face
• Temples / brow
Lifting comes after the fibrosis contracts dermal collagen. We like to follow up procedures with dermal heating such as NuEra, as this aids in further collagen stimulation.
Very. PDO threads are a revolutionary new treatment in the aesthetic world, but PDO threads themselves has been used safely for decades for various medical procedures.
This synthetic absorbable suture material has been used in cardiac and paediatric surgeries for over 50 years.

If you have mild skin laxity and medium thickness dermal layer you will do best with PDO threads.
Being the right candidate for PDO threads is key for getting the best results. If you have too thick or too thin of a dermis, the threads will not be as effective. Our nurse injector Maya will guide you.
Threads can be used to target key areas such as the mid & lower face, providing an objective lift in these areas. In addition to the lifting effect, threads can also help to improve skin tone and texture. The results from threads typically last around 6-12 months, making them a great option for those looking for long-lasting results.
The results from threads are often better when used in conjunction with skin tightening procedures such as NuEra.
They last 9 - 12 months.
By using skin tightening devices such as the NuEra, it can prolong the results and further stimulate collagen.
Threads are made of suture material known as polydioxanone or PDO for short. Placed in the deep dermal & hypodermis, this material creates fibrosis or collagen stimulation. This in turn provides structure, improves skin tone, turgor & thickness. Placement of threads is dependent on the individual case but is usually about 2-4mm below the skin. After placement, threads are pulled tight in opposite directions and tied off. The knots are then buried beneath the skin. Dissolvable threads will slowly degrade over 4-6 months, while non-dissolvable threads will remain indefinitely. As the body natural regenerates collagen, it does so around the threads, providing long-lasting lift & support.
Yes - threads hurt; this is why we use numbing gel prior to treating.
The degree of swelling and bruising differs between patients. In most it is only mild and many patients will return to work the next day. However complete resolution of swelling and bruising will take 2-4 weeks.
Downtime will be individual to the patient. In most cases there is mild bruising and swelling, but most patients can return to work the next day. It may take 2-4 weeks for all bruising and swelling to completely go away.
